Public Consultation

The Past

In 2007, Thames Valley Police launched a series of public consultation meetings to gauge opinion on the current state of the Vale. Issues were highlighted and voted on at each meeting. This gave a picture over each NAG area of the concerns that residents had and the priority with which they should be tackled. In Rural Abingdon the highlighted issues were:

  • Speeding
  • Anti-social Behaviour
  • Inconsiderate Parking

Over the last year we have tackled these issues through using Speed Indicators at the roadside, asking PCSOs to target persistent parking offenders and there was a huge campaign to combat graffiti in Cumnor.

The Future

NAG7 has recently started a new public consultation process using surveys and village newsletters. This is a sample of the survey used in Marcham Your Call - Marcham. We will publish the results once they have been analysed.
